Hard to describe my thoughts about Venice as it is constantly changing. It reminds me of the city of Jerusalem with the amazing architecture and the diverse shops…… interesting enough most of the shops seem to cater for the very, very wealthy. You can see a jacket that’s custom-made for sale in a window for €2500? You do not see many places for the locals to buy things such as normal people stores….. in fact the population has dropped from 150,000 to 50,000 in the last 5 to 10 years. I think those numbers are right the point is is that many Venetians Are not staying here.

I really enjoyed my pre-Dawn walk. This place is huge and very confusing. We did a tour that was very interesting and by the time we got back to the big plaza, it was packed.

obviously, all consumables such as food, drink, or barged in and brought into the canals to be distributed, and all garbage and sewage has to be removed. as with many tourist destinations, you can see that they are still struggling to recover from Covid.

One of the things I appreciate about this tour company is that they will put you in to small locally owned hotels. our hotel here in Venice, the room is very small and the shutter windows open and the sidewalk below has a steady flow of people. This is a old school European hotel meeting that it’s old and kind of rundown lol

One of the things that happens here is moderate flooding. They can close some gates, but it cost tens of thousands of dollars? Anyway tomorrow at 11 AM we are forecast to have severe thunderstorms and wind. Oh great I’m on an island lol
